MRG Live Expands to West Coast USA
Taylor Stevens to Lead MRG Live West Coast Expansion
25 February 2021 (Toronto, ON) – MRG LIVE is pleased to announce its continued expansion into the US with Taylor Stevens as Head of MRG LIVE, US West Coast. Taylor brings with him a strategic partnership with The CLCTV and Country Roots on the West Coast, Electric Palms in Hawaii.
MRG LIVE is The MRG Group’s live event promotions division and has grown to produce over 1,000 events in 2019 and expanded into the US in 2020 with the appointment of industry veteran Jacob Smid as its Managing Director to provide leadership to the MRG LIVE and MRG EVENTS businesses.
Jacob Smid remarks on bringing Taylor to the team, “Taylor’s experience and track record are a great addition to the MRG Live team. Taylor will play an important role in continuing our evolution as an independent alternative in some of the key markets in America, as well as adding everyone’s favorite ‘destination play’ Hawai’i to our portfolio. I’m excited to see the results of Taylor’s collaboration with our Canadian-based team and Eric Fuller as we continue to MRG’s growth in the US and beyond.”
Taylor Stevens career spans across all music mediums. He started in recorded music at Atlantic Records and Clear Channel Radio, and transitioned to live music producing shows with Otter Productions for artists such as Crosby Stills and Nash, Jack Johnson and Zac Brown Band. Taylor expanded his business to cover the West Coast as well as Mexico and China with The CLCTV (previously Collective Effort Events). Taylor joined Steve Aoki’s record label as the Events Director for Dim Mak Records and led the team in all live-based endeavors internationally, including the 20-year Anniversary Tour and multiple festival stages such as Electric Zoo, Mysterland, Sziget and Tomorrowland.
“The team at MRG Live operates with a passion for creating positive shareable experiences through their brands and properties. This is one of the many reasons I am excited to join Matt, Jacob and the rest of the great people in the expansion of MRG to the West Coast and wherever else it may take us,” Taylor says.
The addition of Taylor Stevens comes on the heels of the addition of Eric Fuller and partnership with his Blnk Cnvs in the US Southeastern markets in 2020. Since March 2020, Jacob Smid notes that, “The MRG Group has taken the opportunity created by the pandemic to focus on solidifying our foundation and investing in new initiatives in order to be the leading independent experience provider in North America and beyond. While historically, The MRG Group is a concerts, venues, events and hospitality company; expect to see some exciting announcements through 2021”.
